How Scoring Works

Understand Score, Points, Streaks, and Swap Cost so you can play cleaner runs and make smarter decisions during the Daily Challenge.

Scoring Basics
The four pieces most players care about are Score, Points, Streak, and Swap Cost.

What each part means

  • Score is your main run result and reflects how well you completed the puzzle.
  • Points are the progression value tied to puzzle play and purchases like Swap Hint use.
  • Streak tracks repeated daily completions and makes returning tomorrow matter.
  • Swap Cost is the price of using a Swap Hint, so it trades points for momentum.
Good runs usually come from balancing speed and efficiency rather than forcing a perfect board with too many costly actions.

Best mindset

If you are chasing a better score, solve naturally first and use hints only when they save more than they cost.

If you are protecting a daily streak, finishing cleanly can matter more than squeezing out every last point.

Practical Tips
A few rules of thumb that work well for most Snapshift runs.

For better scores

  • Use Swap Hint sparingly.
  • Read edges and visual clusters before spending points.
  • Keep your board organized so the final moves are cleaner.

For steadier daily results

  • Finish consistently instead of restarting too often.
  • Use a hint late in the run when one good move can unlock the rest.
  • Come back daily to keep your streak moving.
